Bridgeen is an Irish artist who grew up in the rural outskirts of Ballycastle and continues to live and paint in this picturesque and inspiring part of County Antrim.
She is largely self-taught and continually developing her craft. She works primarily in oils, acrylics and cold wax. It is only in more recent years after a career in public service and raising her family, that she has been gifted the time to devote her energy fully to an art practice.
Since then, she has taken part in online art courses, studied art literature and visited museums and galleries at home and abroad, continually expanding her art knowledge and appreciation, which in turn informs and influences her art practice.
Bridgeen’s portfolio of work to date is varied in style and technique ranging from realism to abstraction and from representative to the whimsical; providing her audience with landscapes, seascapes, townscapes, figurative and still life works that draw from her life experience, study and imagination.
Bridgeen’s work has been shown online and in local/regional venues. She held her first solo show in 2022 and a second in 2023. Alongside this she has contributed to a number of group shows. In 2024 her work was exhibited alongside 12 other Irish artists who all belong to ‘The Irish Palette’ of which she is a founding member.
Bridgeen sells her original artwork through exhibitions and online. She has also undertaken a number of bespoke commissions to the intense satisfaction of her customers . Her work is now held in private collections in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Abu Dhabi and New York.
